Introduction |
Thailand is located in Southeast Asia bordering the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Thailand is surrounded by four countries: Myanmar (formerly Burma), Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia.
As of 2016 the population of Thailand was estimated to be almost 68 million, with an anticipated population growth of less than half of a percent. Most of the population in Thailand are Thai (95.9 percent), with Burmese (2 percent), Other (1.3 percent) and Unspecified (0.9 percent) making up the minority groups. Since 1932 Thailand has been a kingdom unified under a constitutional monarchy that exercises a free-enterprise economy.
